Jewelry Collection
2021
OVERVIEW

This collection highlights Alexander Rivera’s transformative contributions to the jewelry collections at Bond Hardware, where industrial precision met creative expression. As the Lead Jewelry Designer and CAD Specialist during this period, Rivera was the sole technical specialist responsible for crafting over 100 unique jewelry SKUs, ranging from modular piercings to sculptural rings and chokers. The designs, including standout pieces from the 'Hitch' and 'Ingot' collections, reflect an intricate balance between raw, industrial motifs and high-end craftsmanship, setting a bold new standard in wearable design. In close collaboration with creative director Dana Hurwitz, Rivera utilized his expertise in CAD modeling to develop intricate product files, ensuring that each piece was optimized for production without compromising artistic vision. From creating pavé diamond accessories to managing material sourcing and liaising with fabricators, Rivera’s work exemplifies a seamless fusion of functionality and innovation. This collection is not merely jewelry but a narrative of identity and individuality, elevating Bond Hardware's aesthetic to new heights and securing its place in the world of avant-garde jewelry.

The 'Hitch Collection' is one of the most varied product lines we developed in the fine jewelry category. Designs revolved around the hitch motif, commonly used to fasten rope, chain, or leather straps; originally a BDSM motif, it became an iconic design symbol we would iterate upon and subvert.
The hitch evolved into body piercings, neck jewelry, and more...
Bold statement chokers, bracelets, and rings elevate the look beyond BDSM.
The multi-hitch collection was a natural expansion on the idea of hitching and harnesses.
A combination of roughness and elegance, the Hitch Diamond Pavé mouthguard stands out with over 150 hand-set VVS Lab-Grown Diamonds. Sustainably sourced & GIA Certified.
Many collections eventually evolved to have full diamond-pavé counterparts.
By making a familiar object like a sawblade or cinderblock appear in an uncanny, surreal, and playful recontextualization; we were able to elevate industrial objects into a high-design feel.
The Hammer Nail and Nail Vial Pendant are two personal favorites from my collection. Designed to be both functional—serving as pill storage or a hammerhead—and visually striking, these pieces transcend traditional jewelry, standing out as avant-garde statements that invite conversation.
